The Terminal Salon 2001

Site specific video projection in the main waiting room, Staten Island Ferry Terminal

On a large video screen placed inside the main terminal which is a route for more than 60,000 people every day, local residents discuss on camera issues that are their own but at the same time belong to a society at large

Residents of Richmond Terrace and students from Curtis High School videotaped themselves and others expressing their views of life on Staten Island. The footage was edited into a multi-layered  video reflecting the diversity of the population, the intersection of peoples lives, conflicting views, and a sense of pride in their community.
